I am so excited to have finally started my blog and launched my new Facebook page. Bear with me people as I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’m winging it well. We’re going to be exploring several different topics here as you all know that I have massive ADD. Thank you so much for visiting. We will be discussing running, healthy menus and essential oils to get started. We walked in the AIDS walk Colorado yesterday, and we had a blast. But, we have all decided as a family to run our next 5K on September the 24th for St. Jude’s Children’s hospital. Yes, I said run. As former smokers, Andy and I are slightly daunted by this challenge. We have 5 weeks to get into shape, and we are going to be exploring some healthy diet options. Good bye, carbohydrates, I may actually start crying on that one!
As we explore the best food to fuel our bodies with, we will also be exploring the best exercise routines. How often do we run per week? What should we be cross training in? What are the best routines to make our running highly successful? I know it is going to be a lot of non fried foods. (I may also cry at this point, too) We’re going to have to start eating vegetables, too. Eeeek!! We’ve already been making a lot of positive changes since quitting smoking. I stopped May 1st. Andy stopped on April 21st. Since then, we have been making many small changes that have been slowly leading to bigger changes. I can honestly say that last year I would have never have been contemplating a family 5K run. At this time last year, I would never have believed that I could drag Morgan and Andy hiking either, but we even dragged Grandpa Peter along with us.
Thanks for visiting again! I have to go now as we’re about to take Pepper and Coley Bear for a walk. Then we’re heading off to Costco to shop for our veggie heavy and carb-lite food choices for this week. Have a blessed rest of your day, friends!
