Fighting allergy pain with peppermint, lemon, and lavender essential oils

What a roller coaster of a morning! First of all, last night we actually went to bed and left the heater running for the first time this year. Of course I woke up to a bloody nose from irritated sinuses. I don’t have any DoTERRA tri-ease capsules which are good for sinus problems, so I made my own. I put 4 drops of lemon, lavender and peppermint in one soft gel capsule. Then I made a second one and took both capsules. I have all three of these oils in a rollerball that I use at work. My co-workers started turning on the heater about three weeks ago. The air ducts are so dirty in the office that I end up with a splitting headache by about 3 in the afternoon, so I’ve been using my sinus rollerball a lot. With the house heater working against me, too, I decided to take the oils internally to see what happens because I have to go into the office today.

I took the gel caps, and it took about 5 minutes before I burped and tasted peppermint. I had taken my juice plus gummies before taking the essential oils, and my juice plus does makes me burp. It’s just not usually a flavored burp. I could feel the peppermint working in my sinuses behind my eyes, and I could feel it making my stomach feel cool as I drove in to work this morning. I usually feel sluggish and unable to concentrate when my sinuses are irritated and angry. I’m doing pretty good this morning. I have also turned the heater temperature down until everyone else gets here. There are perks to being the first person in the office. He he he.

As a lifelong allergy sufferer who even took allergy shots as a kid, I have not taken a Claritin yet. I actually have not taken my daily Claritin dose for 2 weeks now, and I have been taking daily allergy medication for the past 20 years. My sinus rollerball has been keeping the allergy headache and misery at bay. I do have a bottle of Claritin waiting to be taken, but I haven’t had to use it. I’d better get started with my day, but I will keep you posted as to how well my internal oils do.

Have a great day, everyone. Hug a random person and spread happiness today.
