Fruit Smoothies are Back!

Hopefully, y’all are having a great morning this morning. We are happily back to our fruit smoothie routine this morning. Our new Oster blender worked great! No more weird noises or bad smells like the old Black & Decker. Our new blender hummed along happily this morning. We had to add a little bit more liquid because we have finally switched to almond milk with our morning Doterra vanilla Trim Shakes. All in all I was very happy with our blueberry banana smoothies. They had a smoother texture using the almond milk which I also like. Tomorrow morning I’ll have to add a little bit less fruit because now I know that I’m going to have to add more water to keep everything blending smoothly.

Our old Black & Decker blender had a plastic gear that turned the blender blades, and the plastic gear stripped on it. Our smoothie was oozing out of the bottom at first while we were blending, and then our poor smoothie was just streaming out. I ended up getting an Oster 500 Professional blender at Costco, go figure right? Our new blender has metal blades, and it has a metal gear in it. No more waiting on cheap plastic to break. With a 10 year warranty, this blender should keep making smoothie after smoothie.

I’m very happy to be back to a more normal morning routine. It really threw me off balance yesterday morning to have no smoothie which is funny because we have only been doing fruit smoothies for about 2 months. Before we committed to eating a more balanced breakfast, we didn’t really eat breakfast at the correct time if we ate breakfast at all. So we would both start our days out and be up for several hours and finally eat some greek yogurt around 9:30 or 10. If we got busy, we just wouldn’t eat until lunch. Now I’m in a more positive frame of mind, and I have a lot more energy early in the day that I never used to have. It’s a lot easier to be in a more positive frame of mind when I’ve eaten a good breakfast. Dang it! Mom was right when she said to start your day off with a good breakfast.

It’s time to really get my day started. I’ll be joining you again later on today because we are trying cage free eggs to see if there is a difference in taste. I got some cage free organic eggs at Costco yesterday, and we are doing a taste test at lunch today instead of a trim shake.

If you laughed or learned something here, please share with your friends. Thanks!
