This is my first time playing around with a black and white challenge. I snapped these pics while walking at lunch time. I liked how the cloud was just perfectly formed above the house just suspended in mid-air, and I also liked the way the cloud just seems to be floating in front of the clouds in the background. The front range is a great cloud factory, so I happily get a lot of cloud pictures. I also liked how the tree looked like it was reaching up towards the clouds.
I was on the same walk and spied this ornamental cactus that I just had to get a close up of. Instead of having grass that needs to be mowed beside the sidewalk, this home owner has planted cacti all along his fence line along with rock for a nice zero landscaping effect. I love all of the dark shadows hiding secrets behind those prickly thorns.
I don’t really take a lot of black and white photos though I do like to do close ups. They give you a perspective that you don’t always have. The world looks differently when you have a micro view of it. I like zooming in to create a whole scene from a subject that is only 6 or so inches wide. I had fun snapping these shots, so I’ll have to try this again next week, too.
Next week though I’ll have to look at what the topics actually are instead of just randomly choosing items that just happen to match what the topic was.
Thanks for looking!
